Dominican Singer Roxiny Premiers Black And White Visual For “The Lights”

Brooklyn songbird Roxiny returns with black and white visuals for “The Lights”

Brooklyn-based singer-songwriter and women’s rights activist Roxiny , first made her Elite Debut back in August with her remix version of the single “9 Months” produced by Morgan Wiley & Jonathan Kreinik. Today the Dominican songbird returns with visuals for her latest single titled “The Lights, ” Co-directed by Roxiny and Rebeca Diaz. In the black and white visual Roxiny leads A powerful Feminist Rebellion.

The music video takes place in some of Roxiny‘s favorite spaces around the city, from train yards to abandoned spaces in Fort Tilden, to Dutch Kills Bar and Sunshine Laundromat in Greenpoint.  The music video also features art by NYC artist Michael Holman, who was in the band GRAY with late-great art legend Basquiat.​​​​​​​ Watch the visual above look out for Roxiny‘s upcoming “Rituals” EP coming soon.

A few weeks ago I was first introduced to Toronto-based rap duo 88GLAM, made up of 88 Camino & long-time Elite Muzik favorite Derek Wise. Their self-titled debut album was released last month, and features Popular tracks “Bali,” featuring Nav, and stand-out “Lavish,” which was recently featured on Elite Muzik Radio. Continuing push for their new album the duo unleash black and white visuals for the next single “Big Tymers,” an ode to Manny Fresh and Birdman. The single is produced by Joseph Le’tranger, with the visuals Directed by RJ Sanchez.

M.I.A. Collaborator And Afro-Grime Artist Afrikan Boy Drops “Wot It Do” Video

Grime rap artist Afrikan Boy whose real name is Olushola Ajose, is most known for his work with British, and Sri Lankan artist M.I.A., on the track “Hussel,” which is still one of my favorite tracks from her. Afrikan Boy is currently working on his upcoming studio album scheduled to release next year. Getting fans ready for the release today he shares visuals for the projects debut single titled “Wot It Do,” produced by Jan Blumentrath & David Alexander. During a recent interview with The FADER, Afrikan Boy said this:

“Everyone puts their reality out through various screens and we all crop out elements of things we don’t want to send out to the world, The concept grew from the expression to create something a little rough around the edges whilst still being smooth.”

Toronto-born newcomer Langston Francis, makes his Elite debut in the form of visuals for his debut single “FCKD IT UP,” Co-written by Langston, with production by Miles Jones and Adam King. The new single is a mixture of synth, electronica and bass-filled beats, back by Langston‘s unique vocal ability. The music video for the single is produced by Gavin Sheppard, and directed by Elliot Clancy Osberg, whose worked with the likes of Roy Woods and Anders. The new single is a taste of what to expect from his upcoming debut album dropping under Sony music.
