Born in Oslo and raised in West London, rising songstress Sínai who has Eritrean and Ethiopian roots started her career as a successful songwriter, co-writing Arlissa & Jonas Blue’s hit single ‘Hearts Ain’t Gonna Lie.’ Sínai has also written records for Jacob Banks, Alex Adair, Dom McAllister, A*M*E, Jungleboi, and Laura Welsh.
Sínai jump-started her solo career with the stand-out singles “Race Horse” and “Drive” which made it onto Spotify’s New Music Friday UK and Chilled Pop Hits playlists, along with climbing high on the UK Viral 50 charts. Today the talented newcomer makes her way to us in the form of her newest single titled “A.N.X.I.E.T.Y” a record about learning to conquer her anxiety and not letting it control her life.
Speaking on the new single Sínai says:
“I remember traveling to my session that day, my anxiety was sky high and I found myself listening to endless sad songs. Not. Helpful. Anyway, my friend had just told me that 2PAC’s ‘THUG LIFE’ is an acronym for ‘The Hate U Give Little Infants Fucks Everybody’, so I started thinking of new acronyms but I was so bad at it I went back to the sad songs. I finally got to the studio avoiding a meltdown and wrote the fight song I needed to hear – after using Jungleboi as a therapist for an hour – and got an acronym in there. I think A.N.X.I.E.T.Y was me just having enough with my anxiety ruling my life, obviously, it’s easier said than done, but since that day I try to remind myself I am stronger than my anxiety ever could be.”
