Sigidy is an artist from Ypsilanti, Michigan. Loaded with witty punch lines, deep wordplay and extremely diverse styles, Sigidy has only been releasing music since the age of 19. He had gotten his start by playing basketball in college and freestyling at parties, drawing crowds that would later urge him to release content online. Reluctant for the attention, Sigidy wouldn’t buy into the pressure until he linked up with local producers and released a few EP’s of freestyled verses. As his name began to spread around the Ann Arbor-Ypsilanti area, Sigidy began to craft his first solo album entitled The Vanity. Upon the release of The Vanity, people everywhere had a copy of the album. He was featured on a University of Michigan radio cipher with the likes of Gameboi, Red Pill and Clear Soul Forces shortly following the release of the improper debut, and propelled the release into full rotation locally. Near the end of that summer, he was recognized by XXL magazine’s “The Break” feature, showcasing Sigidy’s art form on a national level.
He immediately began work on his second solo release, Sole Music. Sigidy always considered himself a sneaker head, and the play on words with Sole Music is what Sigidy describes as “sophisticated swag music” where the content may include money, hoes, clothes, religion, dreams and goals all in the same verse. It’s an ode to his reluctant for stardom attitude that often simply speaks for itself. The second full length offering was a local and somewhat regional success that catered to everyone that has had the opportunity to listen.
With Sigidy’s true love for the art, he’s not looking to run through the game, he’s simply looking to add another peice and expose new feelings and sounds into the culture. check out the visual for his latest record “Mira a Mi Novia” Produced by.
