Kuky Tala “Turi”
After releasing solo work under the name of Tigermilk, Kuky Tala determined to change name and musical style. Previously related to dream pop, composer and multi-instrumentalist Kuky Tala decides to start a more ambitious project based on a work of composition influenced by world music, ambient, experimental & art rock, theatrical composition and folklore roots.
Turi is definitely her most odd experimental track: a cinematic journey with world music melody scales and dramatic/theatrical arrangements. This time, the demo was recorded by Kuky all alone in her homestudio but in 2011 she re-recorded all over again at Estudios Patagonia.
There she worked with friend & collaborator Luis Rosales, better known for working in post-production sounds for films and tv shows. They got some cool gears such vintage synths, a yamaha vintage drumkit, a pianoforte among other things, to create a more dark and dramatic atmosphere.
On vocals there is a duet featured by singer Anneli Marian Drecker (vocals on Bel Canto, A-ha, Royksopp, Jah Wobble, etc) and Max Avery Lichtenstein (american composer and producer) well known for his works with Mercury Rev and The Lightning Seeds.
