Night Drive – “Sea of Light” [Remixes EP]
Night Drive is the type of music you would hear on a car stereo if Giorgio Moroder and Ray Bradbury were driving late at night through a buzzing metropolis. Today the Texas duo of Brandon Duhon and Rodney Connell share the rest of their Sea of Light remixes by Justin Faust, Kulkid, and Elektromekanik with HYPETRAK. This follows the release of the original “Sea of Light” single and Treasure Fingers remix release earlier this month with Gotta Dance Dirty, who championed the band as a “non-stop expedition into the future of electro pop.
“Sea of Light” rides a nu-wave of fast-tempoed, synth-based electronic sounds driven by rich guitar melodies and arresting vocal hooks. Atlanta’s Treasure Fingers starts off the remix package with a funk-filled disco rework. Nu-disco producer Justin Faust comes in next with the Faust flavor we’ve all come to know and love, adding additional layers of groovy synths and creating a truly dance floor ready track. Kulkid delivers an effortlessly chill and laid back rework that immediately transport you to a tropical oasis. Finally Elektromekanik rounds out the “Sea of Light” remixes with a piano driven disco house rework that might have been playing during one of Miami Vice’s speed boat chases. The “Sea of Light” remixes are all available for download on Night Drive’s Facebook page with the package being released digitally on iTunes on tomorrow.
