VIDEO: Lostribe – No Other Word (feat. Talib Kweli, N8 The Gr8 & Maryann Hunter)

In celebration of Lostribe’s newly released album “Sophie” and collaboration with Talib Kweli, Producer JustLuv creates a story to accompany the track “No Other Word”

“It was a dream I had while making the new album,” says JustLuv, “I woke up and couldn’t stop thinking about making this into a music video. I called my super-dope artist-brother [Shane Hanson] and he translated the story into drawings. I talked to a few studios about producing the video but after talking with Lucas [morelucas.com] I knew he really understood the vision. From there, me and Shane passed the storyboard off to him and the project just took off.”

Lucas has been on the forefront of Lostribe’s creative team for the last several years as the Tribe’s official photographer. In “No Other Word,” he shows his agility by Directing, Filming, and Editing the entire production.

“JustLuv basically locked me in his garage and told me not to come out until we had something,” Lucas said jokingly, “Actually, I have been waiting for a creative project like this to land on my doorstep. JustLuv called me on his way to Hawaii and was like, ‘Just think about it and we can discuss it when I get back,’ but later that night I was already planning shots and building camera equipment. Although finishing this production with only myself and JustLuv at the wheel seemed very improbable at times, it has been a very rewarding experience and I am grateful for all the contributions made by friends and family that made this possible.”

With all the work that went into creating this video on a shoestring budget, the group decided that Labor Day was a fitting release date.

This marks the NorCal HipHop group’s (and morelucas.com’s) first major music video release, and they don’t plan on stopping there. At least one more major production is scheduled for spring ’12, with several smaller productions scheduled for release between now and then.

This video features music produced by JustLuv with vocals from Talib Kweli, N8 THE GR8, Agustus ThElefant, and Maryann Hunter.
